Curitiba is well connected. Afonso Pena International Airport (CWB) handles direct flights from São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and other Brazilian cities, as well as some international services. São Paulo is 45 minutes by air or about 5 hours by bus; the bus terminal at Rodoferroviária in the city centre is efficient and cheap.
From São Paulo, the Cometa and Catarinense bus companies run frequent services on the BR-116 highway. The journey costs around R$80–120 and arrives at the central bus station, which is also the departure point for the Serra Verde Express train to Paranaguá. There is no intercity train service to Curitiba — the Serra Verde Express is a tourist service only.
From the airport to the centre, taxis and app-based rides take about 30 minutes; the Aeroporto express bus is slower but very cheap and terminates at the Rodoferroviária.
