Praia do Cabeço is a small pocket beach on the seaward side of the Morro do Cabeço headland, reached by a short trail from Canto da Praia. The exposure picks up the swell that Meia Praia is protected from, and the result is the only consistent surf spot near the town — a right-hand break that works in winter east and south-east swells.
It is a stop on the southern-beaches walk rather than a destination on its own. The sand is narrow, the surrounding cliffs make for fine photos, and the trail continues to Praia do Costão and back round to the road.
