Morro da Sentinela is the steep hill rising directly behind the south end of Meia Praia and the best easy viewpoint in town. A signed trail starts from a small park at the foot of the hill and climbs through dense secondary forest to a series of clearings; the highest of these gives a clean panorama over the entire bay, with the long arc of Meia Praia heading north and the rocky headlands shutting in the south.
Allow about thirty minutes up and twenty back. The path is steep but well marked. Best at sunset, when the light works in your favour for photos and the heat has gone out of the day.
