Day Trips

Armenia is well placed for day trips into the surrounding coffee country. The Cocora Valley and Salento are the classic combination — an hour each way by road, half a day on the wax-palm hike, an afternoon wandering the painted streets. Filandia and Pijao offer quieter alternatives if you want the same village feel without the crowds. Parque del Café near Montenegro and Panaca near Quimbaya are good options with children, especially in combination. Coffee farms across the region (around Calarcá, Salento, and Quimbaya) all run half-day or overnight visits.

For longer drives, Pereira (40 minutes) and Manizales (90 minutes) are the other two Coffee Triangle cities and easily visited as day trips, though both are interesting enough to deserve their own overnight if your schedule allows.
