A working agricultural park outside the town of Quimbaya, about 30 minutes by road from Armenia. Panaca (Parque Nacional de la Cultura Agropecuaria) is the rural counterpart to Parque del Café: instead of rides it has paddocks. Visitors can watch sheep being sheared, dairy cows milked, horses trained, and pigs put through what is essentially a comedy act. There are demonstrations of traditional farm work — ploughing, cane-pressing, coffee-picking — throughout the day.
For city kids it can be a memorable day out. The park is large; allow at least four hours to see the main shows and walk the loop. It is straightforward to combine with Parque del Café over two days, but probably overkill in one.
