The Zona Rosa, locally known as 'Cable' after the surviving cableway tower at its centre, is Manizales' main nightlife and dining district. The streets around Avenida Santander host the city's busiest concentration of bars, clubs, and restaurants, with a student-driven energy thanks to the proximity of the National University and the University of Caldas.
The scene is at its most active Thursday to Saturday from around 10pm. The mix is broad: salsa bars, rock pubs, electronic-music clubs, and craft beer joints. Daytime, Cable is a pleasant district for coffee and lunch.
