Calderón is essentially a northern suburb of Quito, about 12 kilometres from the historic centre. Regular city buses leave from the Río Coca terminal on Quito's eco-via and run to the main square in around 30 minutes — longer in traffic. A taxi is around 8–10 USD.
If you are driving north on the Panamericana towards Cayambe or Otavalo, Calderón is a 15-minute detour off the highway and an easy first stop.
