Things to Do

Calderón is built around a single craft: the mazapán bread dough figurines that visitors come from Quito to buy. A short morning walks you past the workshops on Carapungo, the plain stone church on the main square, and the Cementerio de Calderón with its painted graves. Allow half a day, or longer if you plan on hanging around for lunch.
