A small private cultural centre in a restored 19th-century house on Calle Estigarribia. The Centro Cultural del Lago shows contemporary Paraguayan art, hosts occasional concerts of indigenous music and guarania, and has a small library focused on Paraguayan history and Guaraní culture.
It is the kind of place that does not advertise widely — opening hours are a sign on the door, exhibitions change with no fixed schedule — but it is consistently the most interesting building in Areguá outside the church. Free entry.
