Eating Out

Filadelfia is not a foodie town, but the local Mennonite dairy and meat production gives the place a genuine local cuisine — thick yellow butter, Trébol cheese, smoked sausages, and home-baked bread. The hotel restaurants serve solid German-Paraguayan fare: schnitzels, sopa paraguaya (a kind of cornbread), and decent steaks from the cooperative's own cattle.

The cooperative supermarket on Avenida Hindenburg is the best place to stock up on dairy for the road; the open-air restaurants beside the Hotel Florida and Hotel Boquerón do reliable evening meals.
