Casa de Mama Rayhuana is a mountainside ruin above the road to Nunupata, more a glimpse from the valley than a site you wander through. Local legend links it to Mama Rayhuana, the original mother said to have created the plants and animals of the surrounding valleys.
It is a small stop, but the story and setting make it a good addition if you are already exploring Chavin beyond the main archaeological complex.
