Andrés Eloy Blanco, born in this modest house in 1896, is one of Venezuela's most loved poets and the author of "Píntame angelitos negros" — a poem set to music that became a hit across the Spanish-speaking world. He was also a politician, a journalist, and a leader of the Acción Democrática party who died in Mexican exile.
The house preserves family rooms, original furniture, and a small collection of his manuscripts and personal effects. It is small but evocative and, for visitors interested in 20th-century Venezuelan culture, the most rewarding indoor stop in Cumaná.
