La Blanquilla is a remote, uninhabited island off the northeastern coast of Venezuela — one of the most pristine in the Caribbean. The name comes from its startlingly white beaches: powdery sugar sand with almost no current, crystal-clear water, and shallow reefs teeming with marine life. It's a favourite destination for Venezuelan sailors and divers who want the Caribbean without the crowds.
Access is almost entirely by private boat or live-aboard dive vessel from the mainland or nearby Margarita Island. There are no hotels, no infrastructure, and no fresh water — which is precisely the point.
