Adícora sits on the eastern coast of Paraguaná, where the Médano trade winds blow consistently from the northeast and the shallow lagoon behind the beach provides ideal conditions for kitesurfing and windsurfing. Several operators rent equipment and run lessons. The wind draws an international crowd of surfers, giving this small fishing village an unexpectedly cosmopolitan atmosphere.
The village itself is worth exploring on foot. Colonial-era architecture survives in the form of colourfully painted houses clustered around the central plaza, and the waterfront is calm enough for swimming on the sheltered southern side of the bay. Adícora is small enough to walk end to end in under twenty minutes, but there are enough guesthouses, seafood restaurants, and beach bars to make it a comfortable base for a few days.
