Getting There

The Josefa Camejo International Airport (Las Piedras) in Punto Fijo has scheduled domestic flights from Caracas and other Venezuelan cities. In normal times this is the quickest option; check current service levels before planning.

By road, the peninsula is reached via the isthmus connecting it to Falcón state, passing through or near Coro. The drive from Caracas takes around five hours on the main highway via Valencia and Coro. Buses from Caracas serve Punto Fijo regularly; the journey takes six to eight hours depending on stops. From Coro, shared taxis and buses cross the isthmus and reach Punto Fijo in under two hours.

There is no direct ferry service from Curaçao or Aruba, though both islands are visible from the peninsula on clear days and the distance to Aruba is less than 30 kilometres.
