An impressive collection of indigenous artefacts from across Algeria, housed in a beautiful Moorish-style mansion. The museum covers prehistory, ethnography, regional jewellery, costumes, leatherwork, and weaponry. The prehistoric rock drawings — reproductions and originals from the Tassili n'Ajjer region — and the ancient weapons are particularly worth seeing.
Not to be confused with the better-known Bardo Museum in Tunis. This one is smaller but rewarding, especially for anyone interested in Algeria's deep Saharan history and Berber material culture.
Open 9:00–12:00 and 14:00–17:00. At the top of Rue Didouche Mourad.
