Beni Belaid Nature Reserve lies east of Jijel, protecting a quieter coastal wetland and dune landscape away from the better-known corniche. It is a good counterpoint to the cliff scenery west of town: flatter, greener, and better for birdlife.
This is not a big-ticket attraction with heavy infrastructure. It rewards patient travellers who want to see another side of the Jijel coast, especially outside the summer rush when the wetlands and beaches feel more local than touristic.
