Central Jijel is easy enough on foot, but the good scenery is spread along the coast. Taxis and local minibuses cover nearby towns and beaches, while a rented car gives you much more freedom for the corniche, the caves, and Taza National Park.
Do not underestimate distances on the coast road. The route west is beautiful, but curves, summer traffic, and photo stops make even short journeys slow.
