Thomas Sankara International Airport sits on the southern edge of the city, about 5 km from the centre. Air France flies in from Paris; Royal Air Maroc, Brussels Airlines, Air Algérie and a handful of West African carriers also serve the airport. A taxi to the centre is around 5,000 CFA.
By road, the principal connections are south to Bobo Dioulasso (about 5 hours by bus) and on to the coast through Ghana or Côte d'Ivoire. Border crossings to Togo and Benin are open and reasonably reliable; both involve long bus journeys with multiple changes.
