Moro Naba Palace

Weekly Friday ceremony of the Mossi spiritual leader

The residence of the Mogho Naba, the spiritual leader of the Mossi people. The palace itself is not open to the public, but the weekly Naba Ceremony in the courtyard outside — a ritual re-enactment of the Mogho Naba's return from a historical journey, performed every Friday morning at 7am sharp — is open to visitors. A brief but fascinating fifteen-minute ceremony involving robed courtiers, horses, and centuries-old protocol.
