Getting there

Tiébélé is about 150km south of Ouagadougou, a drive of roughly 2.5 hours in good conditions. The route heads south through Pô, Burkina Faso's main southern border town with Ghana, and then continues a further 15km or so to the village. The road from Ouagadougou to Pô is paved; the final stretch to the village is not always straightforward.

There is no public transport directly to Tiébélé. Bush taxis run between Ouagadougou and Pô, and it is possible to hire a motorbike or vehicle from there. Most visitors come on a day trip from Ouagadougou, ideally with a local guide or through a tour operator — this is particularly advisable given the security situation in Burkina Faso since 2022. A good local operator will know current road conditions, arrange the association visit in advance, and flag any areas to avoid.
