The Palacio da Assembleia is the seat of Cape Verde's National Assembly, set among the government buildings around Praia's plateau. It is not a museum and does not need a long detour, but it helps explain why the compact Plato district still feels like the country's political centre rather than just an old quarter.
Combine it with a walk past the Presidential Palace, Praca Alexandre Albuquerque, and the streets around the plateau. The interest is mostly exterior: civic architecture, official ceremony, and the way Praia's capital functions are squeezed into a surprisingly walkable centre.
