N'Djamena's nightlife is small but spirited. On weekends, a handful of clubs come alive with Chadian, Congolese, and West African music. The crowd is a mix of locals, aid workers, and diplomats. Things don't get going until late. Bars along the main avenues serve cold beer and brochettes (grilled meat skewers). Arrange transport home in advance — walking at night is not advisable.
