Giza is reached via Cairo International Airport, 25 km north-east of the pyramids. Taxis from the airport run to around EGP 300–500 depending on your negotiating and the time of day; Uber and Careem operate reliably and are usually cheaper. The journey takes 45 minutes to an hour in normal traffic and much longer during rush hours.
The Cairo Metro reaches Giza station (Line 2) from central Cairo in about 20 minutes for a few Egyptian pounds — one of the cheapest and most reliable ways into the city. From Giza station it is 5 km to the plateau itself; take a taxi or microbus for the final leg. The CTA bus 355 runs between Cairo's main bus hubs and the Giza Plateau area.
Most visitors to Egypt arrive at Cairo International Airport. Direct flights connect to Europe, the Gulf, and other African cities. Overland travellers entering via the Sinai cross through the Suez Canal bridges and enter Cairo from the east.
