Eating Out

Giza is essentially western Cairo, and you eat accordingly: a full range from cheap koshari joints and street kebabs to fine dining in the five-star hotels overlooking the pyramids. The terrace restaurant at the Mena House, with pyramids framed by the window, is the most memorable high-end option in town. For something cheaper, head away from the plateau and toward local neighbourhoods around the university for real Egyptian food at Cairene prices.
