Luba is about 50 km from Malabo on Bioko Island, connected by a paved road that takes roughly one hour by taxi or shared minibus. Taxis and minibuses depart from Malabo's central transport area throughout the day; the fare is modest by any standard. Private hire is also possible and significantly more comfortable.
There is no public transport directly to the southern beaches and reserves — reaching Arena Blanca or the coastal road to Ureca requires either a private vehicle or arranging a driver in Luba. Road conditions south of Luba deteriorate significantly after rain.
