This viewpoint gives you a direct look into the Awash River gorge, where the river cuts through the dry Rift Valley landscape that defines much of the national park. It is not a polished attraction with interpretation panels; the appeal is the sudden drop, the volcanic rock, and the contrast between the river corridor and the surrounding plains.
Stop here as part of a wider circuit rather than making it the point of the day. The gorge makes most sense alongside Awash Falls, Mount Fentale, and the open wildlife country, where oryx, gazelle, birds of prey, and dry-country birds are the real draw.
