Techiman sits on the main trunk road between Kumasi and Tamale, which makes it easy to reach from the south and a natural stopping point heading north.
From Kumasi the journey takes about two hours by shared taxi or bus (roughly 130 km). Taxis and STC buses leave from Kumasi's Kejetia station. The road is surfaced and generally in good condition.
From Accra allow four to five hours. The standard route goes via Kumasi; you can also take a direct bus on routes that run to Sunyani and on to Techiman.
From Tamale in the north, Techiman is about three to four hours by road. Shared taxis and buses serve the route.
The main motor park in Techiman is central and well-organised by Ghanaian standards. From here you can pick up onward transport to Kintampo, Sunyani, and smaller destinations in the Bono East region. There is no rail service.
