Winneba sits about 65 kilometres west of Accra on the N1 coastal highway — roughly 90 minutes by tro-tro or shared taxi from the Kaneshie or Kasoa lorry stations in Accra, more in heavy traffic.
The town is a few kilometres off the main highway. Most public transport drops you at the Winneba Junction on the N1; from there short shared taxis run the 3 kilometres into town for a small fee. Continuing west toward Cape Coast or Elmina, frequent tro-tros leave from the lorry station near the market.
