Chez Vincent is one of the long-established beach restaurants at Grand-Bassam, set back slightly from the sand with a covered terrace that catches the sea breeze. It has been feeding weekend visitors from Abidjan for decades and knows what they want: grilled barracuda, attiéké, cold Bock or Flag beer, and a view of the ocean.
The fish here is genuinely fresh — the owner buys directly from the lagoon fishermen each morning, which makes a noticeable difference. The attiéké is made on site and served warm. The cooking is simple and consistent; this is not a place for elaborate preparation, but the quality of the raw materials is high.
Service is leisurely by design. Weekend lunches here can stretch into the afternoon without anyone suggesting you hurry along, which is precisely the right atmosphere for a day trip from the city.
