The Blue Room on Haile Selassie Road has fed Mombasa since the 1950s — a clean, brightly-lit cafeteria with a long counter where you pick from a parade of Indian-Kenyan dishes: chana bhatura, masala dosa, butter chicken, pilau, and a startling range of milkshakes and faloodas. The clientele is everybody — office workers at lunchtime, families at the weekend. Air-conditioned, fast, and good value, and the bakery counter at the front does excellent samosas and cardamom cake for the road.
