The main draw around Naivasha is the natural environment: a freshwater lake ringed with papyrus and fever trees, a geothermally active national park with cliffs and gorges you can walk through, and a dormant volcano with a rim hike. All three are within easy reach of town and can be combined into a two- or three-day itinerary without a car if you are willing to use matatus and negotiate with local guides.
