Eating Out

Buchanan has a handful of simple restaurants — Liberian and West African staples like jollof rice, cassava leaf, palava sauce, and fresh fish straight from the Fanti Town boats. Don't expect menus or western food beyond the basics; the better places are typically attached to the small guesthouses in town.

Roadside stalls along the main streets sell grilled fish, fried plantains and rice dishes for very little money. The morning fish market at Fanti Town is the place to see the day's catch come in.
