Villa des Arts is a graceful 1930s villa turned exhibition space, run as a showcase for modern and contemporary Moroccan art. The building itself is part of the pleasure: white walls, art-deco proportions, and a calmer rhythm than the traffic outside.
Exhibitions change, so the quality of a visit depends on what is hanging, but the gallery is one of the better places in Casablanca to see Moroccan artists in a proper setting. It is a useful cultural counterpoint to the city's bigger architectural sights.
