Hilltop ruins with the best panoramic view of the medina

The bare ruins of a fourteenth-century royal necropolis on the hillside above the medina. There is not much left of the tombs themselves — they were stripped centuries ago — but the walk up at sunset rewards you with the best panoramic view of Fes el-Bali, the white mass of the medina laid out below with the call to prayer rising from its forest of minarets. Fifteen minutes uphill from Bab Guissa.
