Bab Berdayin

Quiet 17th-century gate with green tilework and plains views

A late 17th-century city gate in the northern part of the medina, built during Moulay Ismail's reign. Less visited than Bab Mansour but worth the walk through the quieter northern souks to reach it: the exterior is decorated with green tilework, and from outside the gate there are open views over the plains north of the city and the mountains beyond. The name means "Gate of the Saddlers."
