Getting Around

The medina is small enough to walk everywhere, though the streets inside the walls are not always straightforward — the layout is organic and getting briefly lost is part of the experience.

Bicycles are the best way to circuit the ramparts and explore the orange and olive groves outside the walls. Rental shops operate near Place Assarag and near the main hotels; rates are cheap. Horse-drawn calèches (carriages) are available for hire near the main gate and at the square — good for a sunset circuit of the walls without working up a sweat.

Petit taxis run within the town and can be flagged down in the main streets. Grand taxis gather near the bus station for trips to Agadir, Taliouine, and other regional destinations.
