The main square and the social heart of Taroudant. Café terraces line the square and fill up in the evenings when locals come out to sit and watch. It's a good place to orientate yourself when you arrive — the medina radiates from here, and the souk entrances are a short walk away.
The square has the unhurried feel of a town that doesn't get overwhelmed by tourism. Even in high season you're more likely to be sharing a mint tea with a local than jostling through a tour group.
