The medina is compact and everything is walkable. From the market square to the far end of the medina is 15–20 minutes on foot; the ramparts circuit takes around an hour at a relaxed pace.
For reaching surrounding towns, grands taxis depart from the market square. Aglou Plage (15km west) is the most popular short trip; motorbikes and mopeds are available to hire locally if you want to reach the beach independently without depending on taxi timing.
