October through April is the most comfortable time to visit. Spring (March–April) and autumn (October–November) are ideal: temperatures are mild, the light is good, and the surrounding Anti-Atlas countryside is at its most appealing. Winter days are clear and cool, with cold nights at altitude in the nearby mountains.
Summer (June–August) is very hot and dry. Tiznit sits on the edge of the Saharan zone and temperatures regularly exceed 40°C in July and August. Travel is possible but demands preparation.
The Monday market draws traders from surrounding Anti-Atlas villages and is the liveliest day in town. During Ramadan, café hours shift to evenings and midday activity quietens, but the markets remain lively and the evening atmosphere after iftar is worth experiencing.
