Volubilis is about 30 kilometres north of Meknes and 4 kilometres from Moulay Idriss. The easiest way to visit is by grand taxi from Meknes — negotiate a half-day rate that includes waiting time at both Volubilis and Moulay Idriss. Buses run from Meknes to Moulay Idriss, from where you can walk or take a short taxi ride to the site. Leave as early in the morning as possible, as the site gets very hot by midday.
