Craft Cafe

Craft beer, decent coffee, and a peaceful courtyard north of the centre

Craft Cafe occupies a converted bungalow on Tal Street, just north of the city centre. The leafy courtyard tables are the best part — surrounded by potted plants, with a misting fan keeping things bearable in summer. The drinks list runs from proper espresso through Namibian craft beers (Camelthorn and Brewers & Union are usual) to South African gins and wine by the glass.

The food is light: sandwiches, salads, grain bowls, a few pasta dishes. It is the closest thing in Windhoek to a Cape Town-style cafe. Open from 7am to 5pm most days; reservations not needed.
