Across the street from the Emir's Palace, this is one of the more interesting museums in West Africa. Housed in a 15th-century building that once served as the guest house for the Kano emirate, it holds exhibits on Hausa history, crafts, and ethnography. The staff are genuinely helpful and knowledgeable — a tip at the end of your visit is expected and well-earned.
