Abraka, about 30 km north of Warri on the Ethiope River, is the most accessible freshwater beach — fed by natural springs from the riverbed, popular with Warri residents at weekends for swimming, canoeing, and fishing. The Atlantic coastline is some distance from the city, accessible by navigating the delta waterways by speedboat. Ibeno Beach in neighbouring Akwa Ibom State is a long stretch of Atlantic coast but requires a longer journey.
