Saly has a full range of resort restaurants, from hotel buffets to independent places serving grilled seafood under thatch. The best meals tend to come from the smaller local spots away from the main hotel zone, where fresh fish grilled over charcoal and served with thiéboudienne — Senegal's national rice-and-fish dish — costs a fraction of the hotel price.
Seafood is reliably excellent. The catches arrive fresh from Mbour each morning, and most restaurants will grill the fish of the day to order. Lobster and crevettes are available throughout the season at prices that are modest by European standards.
