Saly is about 80 kilometres south of Dakar, roughly 90 minutes by car on the RN1. The nearest airport is Blaise Diagne International Airport (AIBD) north of Dakar, which handles international flights. From the airport, taxis to Saly take about an hour depending on traffic. Direct airport transfers are offered by most hotels.
From Dakar city, the easiest options are a private taxi or a shared sept-place (seven-seat minivan) from Mbour's gare routière, with a short onward taxi to Saly. Bus services also operate from Dakar but are slower and less direct. The drive along the RN1 through the baobab-studded Thiès plains is pleasant.
There is no direct train service to Saly.
