Inyoni Rocks Beach

Rockier southern beach with a tidal pool popular with locals

A more characterful beach than the main one, Inyoni Rocks sits at the southern end of the Amanzimtoti beachfront. Outcrops of sandstone break up the shore, sheltering a deep natural tidal pool that holds water at all but the lowest spring tides. The pool is good for snorkelling — small reef fish, sea urchins, and the occasional octopus inhabit its corners.

Surfers use the breaks just off the rocks. The beach is patrolled in season but quieter than the main beach, with a more local feel. Limited shade — bring an umbrella in summer.
