A long, narrow strip of protected coastal vegetation running parallel to the beach north of Amanzimtoti towards Athlone Park. The park preserves dune forest, grassland, and milkwood thickets — the natural cover of the KwaZulu-Natal coast before development took most of it. A network of footpaths and a paved walking trail along the old water pipeline give the park its name.
Good for an easy hour's walk and as a connection between beach and town. Vervet monkeys, bushbuck, and a wide range of birds inhabit it. Avoid after dark.
