The main beach at Amanzimtoti is a long stretch of golden sand backed by a grassy promenade. The swimming area is shark-netted and lifeguarded, and a sheltered tidal pool at the southern end is reliable for families and weaker swimmers. The water is warm — usually around 22 to 25°C — and clean.
Facilities along the beachfront include a play park, changing rooms, a small skate park, and a string of cafes and ice-cream kiosks. Busy on weekends and during South African school holidays, much quieter midweek out of season.
