Cocoa Cha Chi is a relaxed, family-run cafe at the lower end of Lower Main Road, with a cosy interior built around a wood-burning fireplace and a picturesque bar, plus outdoor seating for sunnier days. The all-day menu runs from coffee and breakfasts through to sandwiches, pizzas and easy plates, with plenty of vegetarian options worked into every section rather than tacked on as an afterthought.
Breakfast is the strongest meal here — the avo-and-egg sourdough and egg bennies are regular favourites — and the homemade cakes are worth saving room for. It's a good base for a slower morning before working through the secondhand shops and bookstores further up Lower Main Road.
